    Lots of choices. Look at Taylor, Yamaha, Takamine, Fender. Realistically, you can do pretty well for a beginner in the $200-$300 range.

    A couple of tips..

    1) The budget you’ll be looking for is between $250-350 dollars.
    2) Go for a well known brand. Fender, Epiphone, Ibanez.
    3) Look for something that you think looks nice.
    4) Have a look at reviews online.

    Here’s a couple of decent suggestions;

    Buying a guitar can be an intimidating process, especially if you’ve never purchased one before. There are so many factors to consider, and so many guitars available, novices will surely feel overwhelmed. Fear not – help is available. The following ten lower priced beginner acoustic guitars all offer great value for their respective price tags.

    1. Seagull S6
    These Canadian-made instruments are terrific guitars – very highly regarded, both for their beautiful sound, and their excellent value. The S6 features a solid cedar top, and mahogany back and sides. Although the price may be slightly above what some might be willing to pay for a first guitar, it should be considered an investment.

    Make sure you go on a little venture to your local music store and have him try a few out. Buying a guitar is like buying clothes. They might all serve the same kind of purpose but they all fit different. If he’s not happy with it he will end up trading it in for something else and the guitar will loose half its value on a trade in.
