I had a variation of this book when I first started playing. It’s pretty step-by-step.

Also, check out www.ultimate-guitar.com for lots of great lessons.

Whatever you do, don’t give up. Playing guitar is some of the most fun you’ll have once you figure it out.

The best choice I would suggest with no second thought is Mel Bay’s Complete Method for Modern Guitar. I bought it via E-Bay since it was really really expensive buying it in my country from an original bookstore . Its price is around 57Euros if I remember correctly and it will guide through your guitar learning journey 😉

The Total Acoustic Guitarist by Frank Natter Jr. will teach you everything you need to know.
