Vocalist Gina Zavalis to perform on September 17th at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre for the release of her new CD

Breakthrough musical artist Gina Zavalis set to perform live at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre as part of New Jersey’s Bergen Community College “Home Grown” event on September 17th and the official release party for her debut album, “Gina Zavalis”.

Celebrated new singer-songwriter Gina Zavalis, who recently released her debut self-titled album, is scheduled to perform at the Anna Maria Ciccone Theater in Paramus, New Jersey on Friday, September 17th. Included in the evening’s itinerary will be the official release party of Gina Zavalis’ CD, “Gina Zavalis”. The release party will be held after the conclusion of the performance with refreshments provided to attendees while they last.

Gina has performed in a wide array of events throughout the United States during her career, including a sold-out televised event at Yankee Stadium where she boldly sang the national anthem. Produced by Doug Beiden, Gina Zavalis’ highly regarded debut album delivers a stunning collection of breathtakingly beautiful songs that perfectly captures her acclaimed three-octave range. Critics have already begun speculating that this debut collection will ultimately position her alongside renowned contemporary female singers such as Sarah Brightman, Celine Dion, and Barbra Streisand.

“In her new song, ‘In Your Eyes’, Gina Zavalis’ warm tones invite listeners to travel with her on the journey from despair to forgiveness. Her voice, plaintive at first, soars to brilliance as she captures the moment of transformation – a moment of pure freedom. Introspective, brutally honest, Gina conveys a very human moment: the desire for unconditional love, even amid one’s flaws.” — L.A. Guitar Academy

This Friday Gina Zavalis will join fellow singer-songwriter Mark D. Conklin. Mark, who has delighted crowds from the Bluebird Café in Nashville, TN to the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark, New Jersey, describes himself as, “Like Springsteen…only funnier…but not NEARLY as cool!” In contrast to Gina’s dramatic Broadway style, Mark will deliver a set of blues and classic rock inspired songs which build on his Nashville songwriting craft that have often caused critics to compare him to Randy Newman and John Hiatt. Combining humor and wit, Mark claims his songs are for “people who are old enough to remember life before the internet”. This special “Home Grown” performance will also feature some of the emerging new Garden State talents of Bergen Community College’s own Professor Andy Krikun.

Bergen Community College’s “Home Grown” concert begins at 7:30pm. General admission tickets are available online at http://tickets.bergen.edu/ for .
