The San Diego Guitar Society (SDGS) is dedicated to the art and preservation of the guitar. It is open to all levels and styles of guitarist.
The featured guitarists for April 02, 2006 include: Fred Benedetti – performer, composer, recording artist and full-time professor of music at Grossmont College where he is chair of guitar studies, member of the guitar faculty at San Diego State University; Jim Earp – Celtic Fingerstyle guitarist, Solid Air Records recording artist and finalist in the prestigious International Fingerstyle Guitar Championships in Winfield Kansas; Paul Sprawl- an touring Troubador. “Paul Sprawl is a masterful guitarist who plays with such expertise that if you close your eyes, you think you are listening to three musicians (guitar, bass and drums) instead of one. Although his playing is reminiscent of Michael Hedges, his style is clearly his own unique creation. His remarkable musicianship is complemented by a rich, soulful voice. He dazzled our audience.” -Laurie Oudin (Owner – Main St. Café, Homestead, FL)
