Lloyd Dobler Effect (LDE) kicks off their 2010 springtime concert schedule with a performance at the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. on March 29th, between 4pm and 5pm at the Sylvan Theater (located next to the Washington Monument). LDE will be playing songs from their soon to be released (April 13th) CD entitled “A Mute Reminder” on the Imagen Records Label.

“We’re really looking forward to rockin’ out at the Sylvan Theater for the festival. It’s a great performance stage and we’re excited to win over some new fans and promote our new single ‘Going Back to the End’ as well as other songs from our upcoming album,” said guitarist and lead vocalist, Phil Kominski.

LDE has been an influential part of the national Indie music scene for the past 8+ years. Based in Silver Spring, MD., the group’s musicians include Phil Kominski, guitar and lead vocals, Chris Bruno, guitar and vocals, Patrick Hughes, bass guitar, Donnie Williams, drums, and Russell “Rusty” Williams, percussion. The name for LDE comes from the main character in the 1989 movie “Say Anything” starring John Cusack, where Lloyd Dobler held a large boombox over his head outside of his girlfriend’s window and blasted “In Your Eyes” to prove how much he loved her. This image soon became a romantic iconic symbol by an entire generation of women who expect similar expressions of love from their romantic counterparts.

LDE has performed on the same bill with such artists as Jane’s Addiction, Eminem, The Strokes, Our Lady Peace, The Goo Goo Dolls, Good Charlotte, The Roots, Dashboard Confessional, Jack Johnson, and 3rd Eye Blind to name a few.
