How to play guitar and read music? Also what type of guitar should I buy?

Hey
I’m interesting in playing guitar and what are some good guitars that are out there? and also this is like i wanna do covers. So any help?
acuostic hope I spelled that right. Yeah not a electric

Chosen Answer:

Do you want to play electric guitar or acoustic? I would start out with buying an acoustic get a Yamaha. They have cheaper but good beginner guitars under two hundred bucks. Then learn how to play chords. You don’t have to learn to read music notes if you don’t want to. Instead of that most of us use TAB or tablature. It’s really easy to learn. The lines indicate the strings. Google it. The numbers indicate the fret. You’ll only need to learn tab if ur going to play lead guitar stuff.

If you just want to learn covers start with easy stuff. Learn all the major and minor chords on the first three frets. I would get a guitar teacher to show you some stuff once a week for 45 mins. Then practice for about 30 or 60 minues per day.

well get like a fender starter kit its under 200 i think. and i have bin playing guitar for about 7 years i am mostly self taught and i would learn power chords and some basick chords like a d g c and so on, but i strongly suggest you learn power chords. next you will need to learn some scales, learn the blues scales those are helpful. and learn how to read tabular music, each line represents a string and the numbers represent the fret that you have to play. it looks like this. hope this helps.

for the guitar to buy I recommend the Art & Luthiere Wild Cherry model. I own one and the tone is very warm, it’s very easy to play and it can do a wide range of acoustic tones, anything from classic country – acoustic rock.

I get so sick and tired of seeing this same stupid question asked OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.. at LEAST 100 TIMES A WEEK because people are too stupid or lazy to LOOK IN THE ARCHIVES for Answers are READ THE LAST 10,000 ANSWERS for this same question.

AND.. HIRE A TEACHER.. they can help you learn how to read music.

People who think they can learn for free on the internet have a fool for a student.
