How to make your guitar playing sound better?

I dont mean equipment like the guitar the amp or effects like distortion pitch or gain.I mean techniques just the way you play tips like that.

Chosen Answer:

Press the strings down as close to the frets as possible. Press firmly, but not too hard. A nice amount of tension over the fret will increase your sustain and tone. You should also practice bending in tune, and pay close attention to your intonation.

Try creating a note from pure vibrato. Fret the note, but keep the string muted, the just try to wiggle that note into existence. It’s REALLY hard! But if you can do it, you can sustain almost any note forever with just your vibrato.

Work on your picking dynamics. Try playing a phrase and work on hitting certain notes harder than others. Try switching the notes that you’re hitting harder. You should also explore the different sounds you get by holding your pick at different angles. Try playing a phrase and hitting certain notes with the pick at a sharp angle, other ones with it flat. Switch the accented notes around.

Practice your trills, hammer-on’s and pull-off’s. Work on making them even and constant. Try to accent notes within a legato lick.
