How do i get better in playing guitar??

I’ve been playing (electic)guitar since the beginning of this year and I still really suck. So i wanna know how do i get better.
I know, practice a lot, but when i alway fail in doing a good exercise it gets kinda boring pretty quickly.
I really want to become a good guitar player, because when I listen to my fav bands, i wanna be able to play the same stuff as them
i can play prett much all standard chords, major, minor, and septiem-chords
i can play most chords along the neck based on the 6th and 5th strings
nothing really special
i also can play very easy songs like ”hotel california” and the main riff of
”I believe in a thing called love” of The Darkness

The above advice is horrible. That is a great way to develop completely bad habits that you will need tons of time to correct.

If you really want to get better you should take lessons. Otherwise be prepared to advance slowly or at the leat with bad habits. If your REALLY want to become good you will take lessons.

What have you learned to this point? Do you play songs? Scales? Do you know your theory? Notes on the fretboard? Do you use a metronome?

You have onl been playing for a little while, so don’t expect to be the greatest instantly, instead try to practice for at least 15 minutes a day, and look into getting privet lessons with a guitar tutor.

    Teach yourself.
    Practice chord changes
    using basic chords.
    A-D- E go well together
    as do G- A -D and G- C- D.
Em and Am go good. Mix them all up.
You will soon be writing your own stuff.
One day soon you will be able to play all
    your favourite tunes by ear.
Only after that get lessons in music/theory etc.
