Highly anticipated is his first worldwide single release of his original song “F-150” due out in March of 2010. “I can’t be more excited to launch this song! My fans here in Indiana love it and I know it will fly up the country charts,” he exclaims.
Levi Riggs was recently signed to the elite roster of international, Country/Americana music label Lure Records, home of such legendary performers as Charlie Louvin, Van Howard, The Tennessee Three, Jack Green, and Ernie Ashworth. The award-winning and Hall of Fame executives at the helm of Lure Records, Todd Washburn and Ken Pearson, two names synonymous with music industry success, were immediately impressed with Levi’s vocal qualities and capabilities as a writer. They claim, “It takes a lot more than a guitar and a song…it takes talent. REAL talent.” These well-known music industry pros believe Levi Riggs has what it takes, and are backing him up all the way.
For Levi, who grew up in rural Indiana, Country music is home. “To me, Country music is the voice of America. It speaks to our daily life. At my shows, I sing rockin’ fun songs and love songs. I thank our veteran’s for protecting our freedom and I sing ‘How Great Thou Art’ to thank God for His blessings.”
While at Purdue, Levi sang lead for the world-famous Purdue Varsity Glee Club for four years, performing live more than 400 times throughout the United States and abroad. Over the past five years, Riggs has performed at Carnegie Hall, Times Square, The Crystal Cathedral, NBC Studios, Fox and Friends in the Morning, The Harvest Show, A Prairie Home Companion, The White House and The RCA Dome to name a few. Riggs has toured in Florida, New York, Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, California, and the entire country of Romania. Levi Riggs has logged more performance time on stage than virtually any artist in his age bracket.
Levi’s record label Lure Records was a Top 5 nominee for “True Country Label of the Year” by the Roots Music Association in 2008. Lure artists have made it to Country radio’s Top 40 five times in the past two years, and their expanding roster continues to succeed in competing with major label artists. “Though we are an indie label, we operate on the level of a major label and offer our artists the same avenues for success,” says Todd Washburn, owner of Washburn Mastering LLC. Todd, who recently produced an album of songs written mostly by four time Emmy award-winning songwriter Gary Portnoy (“Cheers” TV theme), is also a well known composer for film, Cable and Satellite TV. Ken Pearson, CEO of Bluesprings Music Group, is a renowned radio promotions executive, who works with many of the major record labels such as Universal/Disney, Mercury, Rounder, Lost Highway, Sugar Hill, Octone/BMG, Warner Brothers, Arista, TVT, Interscope and Octone. He was recently inducted into the Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
